Kids in Sport at the Fun Run
The Kids in Sport Game
The community spirited folk of Gerrards Cross hold a bi-annual fundraising event in aid of
local charities which has raised more than £160k over the last 6 years.
This year’s event, held on Sunday 23rd May, attracted a record 1500 plus entrants of all ages, with everyone intent on having fun and raising money in a 5km run around the village.
First through the tape, on a very hot day, was Stephanie Twell, our world junior championship gold medallist, in a time of 17mins 28 secs , followed by a host of enthusiastic and thirsty runners.
Kids in Sport are very privileged to have been selected as one of two local charities to benefit from this year’s event alongside Sunrise Cancer Care Unit at Wycombe hospital. It’s a great honour to be associated with such a well organised and popular community day and we are indebted to Sue Vaughan and her organising team for inviting Kids in Sport to be part of this well supported fundraiser.
We shall use our share of the funds raised to directly benefit local youngsters in sporting activity.
A big thanks to all the parents and kids who visited us on the day and who pitted their skills in our little golf and football shooting game. The winners were presented with footballs signed by the Wycombe Wanderers team.
