They’ll never walk alone!

For the second successive year the Ladies Midnight Wycombe Wander proved a great success and a night to remember for the 520 ladies who took part and raised money for charity.

The Wandering Women

Kids in Sport were fortunate enough to be a part of this highly successful and well supported event this year through our association with Wycombe Wanderers FC.

A total of 520 ladies, supported by a well drilled cast of marshalls, security, caterers, coordinators etc, walked the 12.5 mile route around Wycombe.

Kids in Sport had 90 ladies walking for our charity alongside those ladies walking for South Bucks hospice and Scannappeal.

Amongst our walkers were ladies from three local schools; Cressex, Millbrook and High Crest together with brilliant individuals from local businesses and ladies who wanted to give their time to support a local charity and, hopefully have fun!

Setting off at midnight from Adams Park, the first walkers completed the 12.5 miles in just 2 hours 44 minutes! But it was never a race, it’s just some wanted their hot breakfast on their return to Adams Park, and what a lovely breakfast the Adams Park team provided. An incentive in itself!

Everyone got back safe and glowing with pride at their achievement. The oldest lady was 79 and the whole field was a wide spectrum of ages walking together in a common aim, to help others.

The whole event was terrifically well organised and secure with marshalls around the route and support vehicles constantly on hand.

Big events like this make a huge difference to small charities and our thanks go to all ladies who took part and to everyone who supported you. Hopefully we can repeat this next year.

Our thanks also to South Bucks Hospice and Scannappeal for the brilliant organisation and also to WWFC and Paperchain for supporting the event.
